Job Title: H1N1 IMMUNIZATIONS PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER-Temporary
Salary: $2,160.00 Biweekly
Job Type: County Temporary Employee (#0020)
Location: Tarrant County, Texas

Coordination of the Public Health's H1N1 vaccination/immunization communications, public information and media relations activities designed to promote the public's awareness of the H1N1 vaccination/immunization campaign. Works with internal/external subject matter experts to create and distribute clear, concise, and timely H1N1 vaccination/immunization messages. Uses media and PR tools to create and disseminate the H1N1 vaccination/immunization messages. Assists with the coordination of public relations regarding H1N1 vaccination campaign to the media, elected officials, public and private agencies and citizens. POSITIONS MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME
AFTER A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS IS RECEIVED Grant funded.

Skills / Requirements
Assist with field inquiries regarding H1N1 vaccination/immunizations from the media, public and professional community in coordination with the Public Health Senior PIO and PIO. Assist with all aspects of H1N1 vaccination media relations. Assist with the development of routing H1N1 vaccination public information and special campaign engaging the community and target audiences effectively. Develop, design and produce H1N1 vaccination print materials and publications. Speak well publicly at H1N1 immunization sponsored events. Write, script and perform H1N1immunization appropriate speeches. Document and maintain required records and statistics as it pertains to H1N1 vaccantion campaign. Maintain and update H1N1 vaccination files. Prepare and produce periodic H1N1 vaccination management or special reports. Gather H1N1 vaccination data and perform basic professional level analysis.& May recommend actions and participate in implementations of H1N1 vaccination related activities, programs, policies or other professional activities. Communicate with appropriate staff or citizens in the performance of duties. Minimum Requirements: To apply, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Advertising and Art or a related field.

To apply, must have two (2) full-time years of Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Advertising and Art work experience or a related field.

Must have highly-developed communication skills and techniques, verbal and written accuracy following the Associated Press Stylebook guidelines.

Must be proficient with computer graphics software, photography and video. Expertise in Microsoft Office and graphic design software applications.

Must have intermediate verbal and written communication and presentation skills required for staff and public presentations.

Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple distractions is important. Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is essential.& Incumbent must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others.
