Job: ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN - CHILDREN'S SERVICES (PART - TIME)

The City of Mesquite North Branch Library has an excellent program for children of all ages. From book clubs to Storytime which includes stories, filmstrips, fingerplays and group activities; children will become acquainted with authors and illustrators of Children's Literature.

The North Branch Library is seeking a part-time, Assistant Librarian who will work specifically in the Children's Services area assisting the Children's Librarian with planning, organizing and presenting Children's programs. The Assistant Librarian will also assist in providing information to library patrons including reader's advisory, reference, curriculum support, collection development and programming. In addition, they will respond, resolve or direct questions from library patrons and provide highly responsible staff assistance to the librarian.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Major coursework in library science is preferred.

No experience required.

Must be available to work a flexible 16 hours per week schedule with some evenings and Saturdays as needed.

Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license.
