JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers, processes transactions, and cross-sells services as appropriate. Follows established policies and procedures in accordance with the Bank and the supervisor’s direction.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position. They are not to be construed as an exclusive list of all job duties performed in this position.

Customer Service Duties:
1. Greets and directs customers as they enter the Bank.
2. Explains various services available and assists customers in selecting these services.
3. Cross-sells Bank services through needs identification thus ensuring that the most positive and profitable relationship exists between the Bank and its customers. Refers customers for other Bank products to appropriate officers/departments.
4. Opens various types of new accounts and explains new account disclosures. Verifies and processes changes to existing accounts in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Responsible for follow-up with new customers/new accounts including thank-you notes to maintain “Premier Service” attitude.
5. Assists in closing accounts at customer request. Completes necessary documentation and file maintenance after closing accounts.
6. Answers and transfers incoming telephone calls.
7. Prepares letters to customers pertaining to transactions or services.
8. Processes customer check orders; orders new and replacement Visa debit cards. Refers business account customers to Deluxe Business check representative.
9. Assists customers with inquiries and concerns in balancing and reconciling accounts with the Bank; prints statements per customer requests. Requests research from bookkeeping on behalf of customers.
10. Processes stop payment and forged account documents.
11. Processes deposit verifications upon customer’s written request.
12. Notarizes documents per customer request in accordance with official notary procedures.
13. Assists customers in completing wire transfer request forms and gives inbound wire instructions.
14. Handles IRAs with respect to customer service and maintenance; opens IRA accounts; handles specific customer paperwork upon request.
15. Opens or closes safe deposit boxes; assists with inventory of deceased customer boxes. Is the attendant for customers wishing to enter their safe deposit boxes.
16. Performs a variety of other tasks such as filing, shredding, copying, ordering credit reports, and distributing and opening mail; prepares and reviews deposit-related reports for management.
17. Maintains confidentiality of customer accounts and information.
18. Participates and represents the bank in community and civic activities.
19. Participates in departmental meetings including accepting assignments for presentations at such meetings.
20. Attends and takes necessary training courses.
Teller Duties
1. Accepts checks for cashing and reviews OFAC list for possible matches. Receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits, verifies cash, funds available and endorsements, making change, and issues receipts.
2. Receives savings deposits and places holds on funds as necessary, pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature;
Redeems U.S. Savings Bonds and accepts tax deposits.
3. Receives loan payments when payment due notice or installment loan coupon
accompany payment. Processes credit card cash advances and cash reserve payments.
4. Performs various balancing functions, including ATM and vault as assigned.
5. Processes night deposit and mail-in deposits. Drops off and picks up deposits at customer locations as assigned. Process change for customers and completes over $2500.00 logs as necessary.
6. Sells cashier’s checks, cash advances, travelers checks, and other Bank services.
Accepts applications and issues U.S. Savings Bonds.
7. Maintains proper cash level in drawers, balances cash drawer daily, reconciles differences, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of safety for the Bank. Services ATM according to schedule or need.
8. Counts currency and change, bundles or rolls per Federal Reserve standard; process mutilated or unfit currency and coins.
9. Cross-trains and assists in all areas of operations as needed for a smooth work flow.
10. Processes outgoing mail on postage meter.
11. Closes teller room and Bank each evening.
12. Assists with other duties as assigned or requested.

Skills / Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
1. High school diploma required; some college courses in business, accounting, sales/marketing or related area helpful.
2. At least one year of Personal Banker experience required.
3. Strong customer service and relations skills; ability to interact effectively, tactfully, and diplomatically with all types of calls and person-to-person contact with customers, officers, and other staff members.
4. Must have good typing/word processing and computer skills as well as 10-key capabilities.
5. Must have good analytical and math skills.
6. Must have ability to read reports that are small in size and physically capable of performing light to moderate lifting or moving objects in order to help maintain the facility’s appearance, store supplies or move equipment; must be able to hear conversations in person and on the telephone.
