Jobing Description

The Fort Worth Transportation Authority is accepting applications for Bus Operators. The successful candidate will represent The T in a positive, customer friendly, respectful, honest and professional manner.

Duties include; reporting to duty promptly in proper uniform, utilizing correct safety procedures to operate equipment, giving information to passengers and the general public, treating passengers in courteous, efficient and sensitive manner.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum requirements
-Valid driver’s license for at least three (3) years
-No more than 1 moving violation within the last three (3) years
-High School Diploma or GED - must provide copy
-At least 21 years old
-Ability to commit to strict attendance policy starting on the first day of training
-Drivers with regular Class C license must pass written portion of CDL B w passenger
endorsement
-Ability to pass complete reference, motor vehicle, criminal, and drug and physical background
checks
-Verifiable and stable work history

Preferred job requirements
-CDL B with passenger endorsement
-Bilingual

Important Notes

Don’t wait for confirmation of employment, start studying and take the test NOW! Your application will be kept on file for one year if you do not pass all test and obtain the permit two weeks prior to the start of the class. When you pass the test send me an email and we will re-visit your application.

CDL B with Passenger Endorsement
1. Study sections 1,2,3,4,5,10,11,12, and 14
2. Take tests in the order listed below
3. Take the Special Requirements test last, it will cost you $10.00 to get your permit when you pass this test
4. If you are selected for the class, all five (5) tests + the permit is required before you report to the first day of orientation
5. You must pass the written test at the Hurst DPS office located at 820/Precint Line Road.

The Five Tests You Must Pass: (take them in this order)
1. General knowledge (study all sections-this test is 50 questions)
2. Passengers (section 4)
3. Air Brakes (section 5)
4. Pre-Trip (section 10)
5. Special Requirements (section 13)* requires purchase of $10.00 permit

Note: Some people have to take these tests more than once. You can only take each test once per day.

Pay: $11.76 to $12.76/hour
