The City of Fort Worth Community Relations Department is seeking a Social Worker to perform prevention and intervention activities to decrease infant deaths by increasing access for at-risk women of childbearing age to health care, housing, and social services. Specialists will conduct interviews, problem solve, make referrals and develop client action plans and manage client caseloads. High level of communication skills is required; specialists will conduct one-on-one interviews in the office or client homes, as well as make presentations to community groups. Demonstrated ability to keep detailed records and create reports is required. Specialists will collaborate with community agencies and internal City departments. Will lead or support special projects.

Reliable transportation for job-related activities is required.

This ability to speak both English/Spanish Spanish to English bilingual skills required. The selected candidate will be administered the City of Fort Worths oral Spanish test in order to be certified with the City as an interpreter.

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college in social work, Sociology, Psychology or a related field PLUS four years related experience in a social services program setting, Victims Assistance Program, or community outreach experience working with diverse populations.

Masters degree in Social Work or Public Health preferred.
