Blog Post: Body Language Tips for Acing a Job Interview
posted Friday, June 13, 2008 4:20 PM
Hi, this is Bill Kasko , President and CEO of Frontline Source Group, Inc. a temporary staffing and direct hire employment placement agency based in Dallas Fort Worth. Have you ever thought about how loud your body language speaks during an interview? Many candidates think all about what they are “supposed” to say during an interview and have no idea how much their body language says. Body language expert Janine Driver came up P.R.A.I.S.E! This is a great guide to help you ace a job interview.
P - Praise . Find something nice about your interviewer -- compliment their jewelry or some aspect of the company. R - Rapport . Find a commonality with your interviewer -- what do you both have in common? It establishes likability. A - Attitude and confidence level . "That's a big thing that Julianne was lacking in her interviews," says Janine. "It was obvious she didn't do her research, which sends the message that she really didn't want those jobs, because if she did, her attitude and confidence would have skyrocketed." I - Informing . Do research about the company and find out a fun fact that will impress your interviewer. S - Shaking hands . It almost seems overly simplistic, but it can send the message that either you're confident or you have low self-esteem. E - Eye contact . Maintain your viewpoint in the upside-down triangle of the interviewer's face (between the eyes and nose), and keep eye contact levels around 70 percent -- any more and you are staring which is uncomfortable. Please visit us at www.frontlinesourcegroup.com where you will find information about us and our available positions. Make sure you submit you resume!
