I used to hear that my generation is the generation of instant gratification. We want it fast and easy. As time goes by more and more things are streamlined. Digital cameras that instantly upload your photos to your computer. You can get a message across quickly with shorthand txt msgs. Fast food...even our favorite restaurants have curb side service now...online banking, email...the list goes on.

All these things keep our life going smoothly. But when we are so used to things moving along at this pace a small hiccup plays out more like a catastrophe.

I am likely the least patient person I know. I am serious about multitasking and time management. I don't take wasted time lightly. I must drive my family crazy..."OK you do this while I do this, then we will have this much time to do that" So this weekend as we sat in airport waiting for a flight that had been delayed 3 times all I could do with my time is think about things that never seem to come fast enough. Not much else to do in an airport dragging around those bags you refuse to pay $25 to check.

Waiting for news of the loved one caught in a storm...the soon to be mom waiting to see the tiny pink lines...or waiting on the last flight home is so hard. And usually news of a new job seems to creep along at a snail's pace.
