I have received the following email a couple of times and feel that it is quite appropriate considering the financial state of the U.S.:
After reading this, Ask yourself the question "Would you run?"
Imagine this happening to you...........One Sunday morning during service, a 2,000 member congregation was surprised to see two men enter................both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns.
One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Christ remain where you are." Immediately the choir fled...the deacons fled...and most of the congregation fled. Out of the 2,000 there only remained 20.
The man who had spoken took off his hood....looked at the preacher and said "Okay Pastor, I got rid of all the hypocrites.....Now you may begin your service. Have a nice day! And the two men turned and walked out.

As Christians, if we are not willing to die for Jesus, our fellow man does not stand a ghost of a chance. What motivates us to care? We go about our daily lives as though we are islands unto ourselves, not grasping the fact that we are all tiny specks of dust in the universe that can be blown away by the simple puff of our Father's breath.
I spoke with someone yesterday who said that our lack of concern for our fellow man and the loss of livelihoods are because we have gone into self-preservation mode. How Truly SAD! We eagerly spout the national anthem........."one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all." We are very proud to know these words, but how many of us truly apply them to our lives?
We have been deluged with senseless acts of terrorism purportedly in the name of Allah, a tsunami, devastating hurricanes, countless tornadoes, and the list goes on. We continue to lose lives in the Middle East protecting our borders. Our sentiment appears to be that if it does not touch me directly, it has no value to me. With all the continued bombardments to our lives and livelihoods, it still has not sunk in to our psyches that "it takes a village to raise a child, and an Army to protect the village."
We are constantly being displaced due to the economy, so how are we going to fix the problem?......Build more shelters?....... Integrate them into the welfare system?......Allow them to live on the streets? What are you doing, Waiting for President Elect Obama to fix the problem. Where do you think the money for improving our economy is going to come from? Obviously from you and me. 'WAKE UP PEOPLE!"Any option we have comes with a price; so will that be cash or charge?.
If you are an organization, vow to donate 50 cents to $1.00 from your sales to help in this endeavor.
How many Christians do it take to make a difference? It starts with one; one who has to be persistent enough to get others to see the value of a need.
At TheWrightResume.net, and Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Inc., we have picked up the gauntlet. We receive 20-30 calls per day from persons who have been laid off seeking resources to help integrate them back into the working world. Career resources and job assistance costs us approximately $315 per person. Except for the $500 donations we have received, TheWrightResume.net and its partners absorb all costs for this service.
Will you run? We are accepting donations for as little as $1.00. Donations you provide will allow us to put some persons to work by editing resumes, writing and responding to correspondence, taking telephone calls, calling organizations and asking for sponsorships and job availability and more. These jobs would be over and above additional jobs that we are working to provide for them.
Make a donation of some kind, whether it 's a dollar or a thousand dollars, and call us to find out how you can give of your time. A dollar from each person would be significant to aiding us in our endeavor. 682-503-6399, http://www.thewrightresume.net
When you get to the Pearly Gates and St. Peter asks what you have done for your brother, you can say very loudly and proudly, "I helped to protect a village."
