Blog Post: College Graduation is here! Need help finding a job?

Ok it's time to jump out of the warm cozy safety of collegic life into the "real" world. A few things you should know about. As you begin your job search.

First of all, having a great resume is key. When looking at your experience you know the old saying: Want a job get experience - want experience get a job. You can look beyond what is considered a traditional job. Look at things you have done in your life including volunteer work, any type of team activities and any leadership roles you have held. Any acomplishment that you learned a lesson from is fair game to include. Of course it needs to be appropriate but life lessons will easily translate to work lessons.

If you are unaware of where the career center is on your campus - ASK!! Find out where this office is. And then get in your car or put on your shoes and GO THERE. Meet the career counselors. They are there to assist you in landing in a job. They will review your resume and provide lots of opportunities for you to find employment following graduation. Plus, the career center folks can help you with mock interviews and help to set you apart from your competition. Guess who that is - you fellow graduates!
