If you have turned on the TV lately or opened a newspaper you may have heard of the predicted recession that is happening in the U.S. According to government job reports that came out they show the first decline in employment in four years. The question that I propose is how do we know this to be true?

According to the Labor Department reading there was a net loss of 17,000 jobs in January. I recall the numbers coming out in December with only an 18,000 increase and then shortly thereafter the reading said they had made a mistake, there was actually an increase of 82,000 jobs. So, in turn, in a few days are we going to hear that this number has been revised to an increase of 47,000 jobs? According to CNN.com there have been a few months in the last four years when the preliminary payroll reading show a decline that was later revised.

I can tell you from working in the employment field day in and day out that the jobs are coming in. We have not seen the huge impact that we read about in the newspaper or hear on the nightly news. I believe this to be a somewhat slower time but nothing to be alarmed about. The Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex is a perfect place to be if searching for a career, make a change in your career or for companies that are looking to relocate.
