History Recognizing that American Indian businesses were not being included in minority business programs at some local public agencies, a group of seven people from the American Indian community assembled in October 1987 in order to formulate a plan to explore the possibility of organizing an American Indian Chamber of Commerce. This group was interested in helping American Indian business owners grow and develop their firms.
