We are the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce (GDAACC); the largest Asian American Chamber in the United States. Since 1986 of our initial establishment, we have been sustaining steady growth in our membership and currently have over 1,200 members.
The Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce is positioned to be the focal point of Asian American economic development and cultural exchange. We are strategically located in the heart of the newly established Asian Trade District in Northwest Dallas.
Along with the growth in membership, we have continually improved and presented new programs to further assist our members, sponsors and partners. Some of our programs has also grown significantly such as the Asian Festival that attracted approximately 15,000 attendees recently in May of 2005.
Leadership Tomorrow is a program created for emerging Asian American leaders in the DFW area who are interested in developing their leadership skills. This leadership development program is aimed at creating well-rounded leaders who will participate in the betterment of the city.
In the year 2000, our collaborating organization, the Multi-Ethnic Education and Economic Development (MEED) Center opened in East Dallas. The MEED center focuses on job training, entrepreneur development theory and business assistance for the growing population in East Dallas. On October 1, 2003, MEED became the sixth business assistance center in the city of Dallas, serving the North East section of Downtown Dallas.
In 2005, GDAACC also hosted the Texas Asian American Business Symposium 2005 in Dallas, Texas. The symposium is designed to emphasize business opportunities for Asian Americans as well as business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region for American Companies
