was born from the merger of the Cross Timbers, Red River Valley and Tejas Girl Scout Councils that was finalized in 2007. The area encompasses 32 counties that extend approximately 60 miles to the south of Dallas, north to the Oklahoma border and east to the Arkansas and Louisiana borders. Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas serves an area of 23,469 square miles. At its greatest extent, it is approximately 195 miles wide and 175 miles from north to south. The combined girl membership is roughly 42,000 girls. The new organization has 15,000 adult members, 90 dedicated staff members, six amazing camp facilities and seven owned or leased service centers.
