About Us: Our Proud History: Strategy 2000 Advanced Manufacturing Initiative

Strategy 2000 was a key element of the City of Fort Worth's response to the negative economic impact of the defense downsizing in our community.  Its mission was to create a healthy, diverse, less defense-dependent economy supported by business development, emerging technologies, international trade and a world-class work force.

The Advanced Manufacturing Committee developed a long-term vision for a thriving manufacturing community in Fort Worth and a strategic plan for the realization of Fort Worth as the global center for manufacturing excellence.
