Profile: Family Gateway

When a family is homeless, it’s not by choice. 

Family Gateway provides transitional housing and a comprehensive continuum of services to families with children experiencing homelessness.

Since 1986, Family Gateway has offered counseling and training intended to restore dignity, stability, and self-sufficiency to families in Dallas County.

Family Gateway restores dignity, stability, and self-sufficiency to families in an atmosphere of emotional, social and economic empowerment with a vision that is:

• Family-centered

• Community-based

• Integrated with other community services

• Designed to strengthen fragile families

• Intended to nurture and protect the children

• Focused on breaking the cycle of generational homelessness
