Community Care Center of Garland is currently recruiting for a Unit Manager

Skills / Requirements
  • Applicant must be a licensed LVN or RN
  • 1-2 years of management experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Must be able to lead, to take charge of staff, and to follow-up with staffing issues
  • Must be able to work irregular hours (nights and weekends) if necessary
  • Attend routine meetings
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform frequent rounds on the unit
  • Oversee and ensure staff is giving proper care
  • Must work well with other departments
  • Must be able to train staff to identify skill deficits
  • Strong assessment Skills.
  • Must be proactive and take the initiative to see items completed
  • Share weekend on-call rotation with other nurse managers
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the unit and with other departments.
  • Maintains performance improvement activities for department. Performs competency evaluations of all assigned staff members.
  • Provides education, training and support to staff on clinical skills, assessment, performance improvement.
  • Ability to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for department staff members.
