Functional Responsesibilities: Responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and wiring per specifications and operational procedures, both in technical facilities as well as on customer property. Perform testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards. Performs fiber locates, monitoring of construction activity, fiber splicing and termination. Assembles, installs, and/or tests transmission equipment channel banks, channel service units (CSU), digital service units (DSU), modems, routers, etc. Install routers, bridges, multiplexers, concentrators, etc. Complete periodic maintenance on company transmissions support equipment. Maintains new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques; utilizes remote test systems to isolate and resolve customer circuit outages. Coordinates the testing and turn up of service with all involved providers until the customer's service is up and working. Skills / Requirements

Knowledge/Skills - Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of: 1) Telecommunications Theory 2) IP and Networking Theory 3) Network Architecture, Current and Future Topology 4) Network Systems and Platforms 5) Facilities & Infrastructure 6) Computer Skills 7) Safety & Environmental 8) Test Equipment (local and remote) & Testing Methods 9) Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) & Customer/Product Specific Platforms & Processes 10) Cable Systems & Applications for Inside and Outside Plant 11) Equipment Installation & Commissioning of Network Systems & Platforms 12) Databases, Processes, and Administrative. Candidate should possess Leadership and Self-Management - Demonstrate organizational and leadership skills relevant to carrying out day-to-day responsibilities; posses increasingly more advanced people skills; learning to lead projects and more complex initiatives. Communications - Demonstrate professional verbal, written, and listening skills. Customer Service - Demonstrate professional customer skills; ability to handle complex customer issues with assistance from team leader or manager. Important Notes
