Job: Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY
Performs repairs and maintenance of facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs repairs and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, sheetrock repair, alarm systems, lighting, and floor care.

Assists with cleanliness and organization of facilities.

Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Facilities Supervisor.

Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

Confers with supervisor to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.

Must be able to respond to after hour emergency calls in a timely manner.

Under direction of supervisor, purchases tools, equipment and supplies required for operations.

Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and be able to drive during daytime and night time hours. Must provide agency with proof of auto liability insurance.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to be on call and work some weekends.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic computer skills required, including knowledge of MS Office suite and internet navigation. Current Texas Driver's License and proof of auto liability insurance required. Must be able to drive during day time and night time hours.
