Jobing Description
U.S. Renal Care is looking for a Dietitian to carry out the following resposibilities for our clients:

  • Provide ongoing monitoring of data to determine to need for timely intervention and follow-up.
  • Recommend therapeutic diets in consideration of cultural preferences and changes in treatment based on the patient’s nutritional needs in consultation with the patient’s physician.
  • Counsel patients, and patients’ families on prescribed diets and monitoring adherence and response to diet therapy. Participate in monthly clinics with the patient and family members to review the prescribed diet and compliance.
  • Refer patients for assistance with nutrition resources such as financial assistance, community resources or in-home assistance.
  • Must perform initial and nutrition assessments in accordance with state regulations.
  • Answer questions and discuss problems with dialysis patients when excessive weight-gain occurs, or when other instances of suspected dietary non-compliance occurs.
  • Design & distribute educational materials concerning diet for the dialysis patient, conduct seminars and classes for dialysis patients concerning aspects of their diets.
  • Help maintain a productive quality assurance program and participates in the center’s quality assurance activities.
  • Assures that follow-up progress notes are written in each patient’s records each month
  • Perform regularly scheduled evaluations of standard menus for renal patients, revising and/or updating menus as necessary, and participate in monthly interdisciplinary patient care conference.
  • Documentation corresponding with the patient’s care plan and long-term program will be noted on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Assist patients in obtaining dietary supplements as appropriate.
  • Actively participate and assist with the pre-ESRD program.

  • Skills / Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or Food, eligible for registration by the American Dietetic Association.
  • A minimum of one year experience in clinical nutrition.
  • A member of the American Dietician Association.
  • Current licensure in appropriate state
