LOCATION/ADDITIONAL INFO: NOTE: This is a PART TIME position with Benefits. Work Days: Monday Friday. Shift Hours: mornings 8:00am 12:00pm OR afternoons 12:00pm 4:00pm.

To provide a wide variety of general customer service in support of the City Secretarys Office and perform a variety of general clerical tasks; to respond to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner. Initially the majority of work will be performed in a dusty basement records storage area within City Hall. Ideal candidate should be able to coordinate the regular approval, removal, and destruction of eligible department records; assist with the identification, appraisal, and transfer of historical materials to the City's archives; match inventory data to existing records retention schedules to facilitate records disposition; and have knowledge of recordkeeping practices as required by State laws, City Charter, and City Code.

Skills / Requirements
High School Diploma or GED PLUS at least two (2) years of responsible records management customer service experience. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and typing skills required. Position requires ability to frequently lift boxes weighing 50+ lbs from the waist then to over-head storage locations. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb stairs and ladders in the performance of daily duties. Extensive telephone and public contact required. Experience working with active/inactive records management programs is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Must pass a Computerized Office Skills examination with a minimum score of 70; plus, must type a minimum of 35 wpm. Computerized Office Skills test scores must be on file with Human Resources prior to application. Contact Human Resources at 817-392-7750 for more information about testing.
