Job Title: H1N1 PUBLIC HEALTH PREPAREDNESS SPECIALIST (Temporary)
Salary: $25.00 Hourly Job Type: County Temporary Employee (#0020) Location: Tarrant County, Texas Work with Tarrant County businesses, universities and daycares to develop H1N1 Preparedness plans. Provide clients with Flu toolkits (information materials, checklists, assessments, etc.) and assist in H1N1 planning. Provide H1N1 education and planning for special populations in the community (Nursing Homes, Daycares, Schools, etc.). NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED. POSITIONS MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME AFTER A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED Skills / Requirements
Acts as business and special population subject matter expert, working in conjunction with over 400 businesses in Tarrant County, 600 Daycares and special populations for H1N1 Flu Preparedness. Works with local businesses, universities, nursing homes, daycares and schools to assist with H1N1 plans. Prepares for and provides support and response to H1N1. Provides H1N1 education (assessments, checklists, brochures, graphs and charts) to the community. Grant funded. Minimum Requirements: To apply, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher + Two (2) full-time years of work experience in Emergency Preparedness activities with businesses and/or special populations
OR To apply, must have Six (6) full-time years of work experience in Emergency Preparedness activities or with businesses and/or special populations To apply, must have a valid Driver License. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with distractions are important. Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is essential.& Incumbent must arrive at work on time, prepared to perform assigned duties and work assigned schedule. Incumbent must have the ability to work well with others. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves and others.
