Magistration of criminal defendants in the Tarrant County jail.

Conduct Initial Appearance dockets. Conduct various dockets for the county criminal courts and the criminal district courts. Conduct voir dire. Perform legal research and writing at the request of the judiciary. Minimum Requirements: To apply, must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
To apply, must have four (4) full-time years of work experience in trying criminal cases. To apply, must be able to work nights and be on call some weekends. Must be a resident of Tarrant County. While employed by Tarrant County, magistrate will not have a private law practice. Must have a good working knowledge of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Texas Penal Code, and local practices including Differentiated Felony Case Management.
