Jobing Description
The Street Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt streets, concrete alley radius points, handicap ramps, curbs and gutters (along major thoroughfares), storm sewers, bridges, permanent barricades, guardrails and drainage structures. This division also provides emergency response in the event of inclement weather. The City’s 50/50 Cost Share Program is also administered by this division which includes the reconstruction of curbs, gutters, drive approaches and sidewalks as requested by the homeowner.

The City of Mesquite is seeking a qualified Assistant Manager of Streets to assist in directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating the Streets Division which consist of 46 employees. In addition, will assist in managing and coordinating programs and activities of the Streets Division within the Public Works Department. Will provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Manager of Streets Division.


Skills / Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or GED.

Requires three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience working in street maintenance, repair and construction including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility.

Must possession of a valid Class C Texas driver's license.

Must be available to work a 40 hour work week M-F.
