Job: Content Development Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide team-based project management for the instructional design and development process in an intensely deadline-driven environment. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and production staff to design learning activities consistent with sound instructional design principles. Provide recommendations for video and print design, sequencing of instruction, assessments, and creation of engaging and effective course materials and activities. Review final learning activities to ensure instructional integrity. Verticals serviced: Healthcare, Government, and Private Security. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Responsible for print and eLearning process.

Use adult learning principles.

Approve the SME’s initial program direction and redirect if necessary

Apply principles of sound instructional design to review, edit, and organize learning activities.

Lead collaborative brainstorming sessions between SMEs, DOEs (Directors of Education), and the producer.

Check for bias and plagiarism in draft content from SMEs.

Seek additional content from SMEs when needed.

Map all post test questions to learning objectives to ensure an objective and fair assessment.

Ensure that all learning activities conform to the standards set forth by the various accrediting bodies.

Base content difficulty, language, jargon, demonstrations, etc. on the intended target audience.

Review learning activities prior to delivery to customers to ensure that all objectives are appropriately covered and that all post test questions are clearly addressed in the content. Revise as necessary.

Research customer complaints regarding content issues.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : Master's Degree

Experience : Two to four years related experience

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of computer based training and content creation software helpful
