Jo Ann, the Volunteer Coordinator for the Tarrant Area Food Bank, tells us her story of why she got into volunterring.

WorkPaths was established by Central Dallas Ministries in 2006. Focusing on pre-employment education and training, programs are designed to provide a path for people and communities into rewarding careers and self-sufficiency. Through a partnership with OAI, Inc., a national workforce development agency, WorkPaths offers a12-week course to low-income workers ready to take the next step towards a career providing meaningful work and adequate income for sustaining families.

An ombudsman is a specially trained and certified volunteer or professional who advocates for quality care in Texas' long-term care facilities. The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging is always in need of caring volunteers to serve with its Ombudsman Programs. No prior experience is required.

The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging is a program of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). It plans, coordinates and delivers services to persons age 60 and over and their family caregivers who live in Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties.

Debra Willis and Officer Mark Calvert are with the Grand Prairie Police Department. Every year around Christmas they coordinate the collection of toys, food, and clothing and then execute on delivering those things to families across the city.
