    Responsibilities

    • Perform technical review of all tax documents
    • Provide comprehensive tax planning and structuring consultations
    • Responsible for budgeted engagement hours and deadline
    • Validate that the book numbers tie to the financial statements and taxable income is correct
    • Identify and execute value added tax projects in a wide variety of industries and jurisdictions
    • Assist multiple client service teams on multiple engagements
    • Communicate and interface with clients
    • Provide main source of communication with clients and build meaningful relationships
    • Inspire and mentor staff and senior associates to enable them to reach their maximum potential
    • Represent the firm in community activities and professional associations

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Active CPA license
    • 5+ years of Public Accounting experience in demonstrating a progression in complexity , scope, and number of tax engagements completed simultaneously or a combination of family office and (3 years minimum) public accounting experience
    • Concentrated experience with trust, estate, gift, complex individual investment partnerships and state tax returns
    • Proficient experience with S-Corp income taxation and tax-exempt organizations
    • Ability to research and effectively communicate findings regarding complex tax matters
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (public speaking skills a plus)
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving ability
    • Must be highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a complex, dynamic environment
    • Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems and Microsoft Office tools
    • Supervises junior members, reviews their work for completeness and accuracy, and prepares it for client delivery
    • Work within tight deadlines and take responsibility for getting the job done in a timely manner
    • Ability for light travel
    • Available to work extended hours during busy seasons

    Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

    • Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
    • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and team building skills
    • Regularly looks for opportunities, recommendations, and additional firm services that could benefit client
    • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Is focused on developing technical skills and is committed to continuous performance improvement
    • Experience using GoSystems and/or CCH Pro Systems fx tax software
    • Experience using Bloomberg BNA tax research
