Job Description

TheHealth Information Management (HIM) Associate II is responsible and accountablefor a wide variety of functions within the HIM Department. These functions caninclude the following: assembling and assigning chart deficiencies; gather andsubmitting birth certificate information; providing follow-up activities on thebehalf of the Cancer Registry; receiving and researching issues withtranscription; filming or scanning images for record retention; and researchingand locating medical records for internal needs of the HIM Department. Thespecific functions assigned depend on complexity of the facility and itsstaffing needs. The HIM Associate II will also assigns medical records toappropriate locations and locates medical records using the automated charttracking system, will provide coverage in the Physician's incomplete area andanswers Physician questions, as necessary. Works closely with direct Manager toensure operational needs of facility are met.

Theideal HIM Associate II will have excellent verbal and written communicationskills.
