    JOB SUMMARY
    Assists students, parents and teachers in all of their dealings with the school office. Performs all clerical
    work for counselors. Answers telephone and performs computer work.

    JOB SCOPE
    This position has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Performs all clerical work for counselors
    • Inputs various reports and forms for attendance
    • Answers telephone on all incoming lines and directs all calls to proper parties
    • Files material in students' permanent records
    • Assists students when they need to see a counselor or when other questions arise
    • Copies records for students, prepares records for other schools and gives students TEA forms
    • Copies work for teachers to assure needed materials for classroom use are prepared
    • Acknowledges new students entering school and prepares records for counselors
    • Assists in supervising the work of the student assistants
    • Answers telephone and fills in for nurse
    • Performs related duties as required

    PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
    Work location is in the office. Ability to move from one location to another.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Six months to one-year experience in and educational environment preferred
    • Bilingual skills preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Skills in typing, filing and computer operation. Ability to follow directions, make decisions, meet the public
    and use good telephone communications. Ability to read and write. Ability to use a copier, computer, and
    printer.
