    JOB TITLE: TITLE 1 MATH TUTOR

    WAGE/HOUR STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

    PAYGRADE: HOURLY

    DEPARTMENT: FEDERAL, STATE, & LOCAL PROGRAMS

    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: CAMPUS PRINCIPAL

    DAYS/SALARY: 3 WEEKLY/18 HOURS $22.00 PER HOUR

    JOB SUMMARY
    • The Title I tutor is required to follow all district and campus rules and guidelines as applicable.
    • The Title I tutor is required to deliver targeted instruction to identified students in small groups or facilitate classroom activities while classroom teachers deliver Tier II or III interventions to students.
    • The Title I tutor will collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionist and campus administrators to align tutoring activities that will address the specific educational needs of students and develop systems to provide feedback regarding student progress.

    This position directly assists in helping students learn.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Employ a variety of instructional techniques to match the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved
    • Provide opportunities for students to participate actively and successfully
    • Evaluate and provide feedback on student progress during instruction
    • Cooperate with other members of the staff
    • Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process
    • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt
    • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials and facilities
    • Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
    • Provide as much as possible, a safe environment to protect students
    • Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly to colleagues, students, parents and community
    • Demonstrate human relations skills that are professional, ethical and responsible
    • Design tutoring activities using approved district resources
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information

    PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
    Work is located in a school environment. Tutors must have the ability to move from one location to another throughout the campus.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION
    EC-5TH Texas Certification required
    Exp teaching math at elementary level

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Ability to communicate (verbal and written), and to instruct Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
    Communicate high expectations for achievement for all students Comfortable working with a diverse student population
