Celadon Logistics is looking for a Manager of Business Development that will oversee a team of Inside Sales Account Executives (initially, 5-7).  This position reports to the General Manager of Transportation Logistics.

 

Responsibilities

 The Manager of Business Development will perform the following along with, or to support, the General Manager:

  •  Develop Account Executives’ industry and sales knowledge, including pipeline development, closing business, managing accounts, spot market pricing, etc.
  • Set profit goals for the team and maintain a culture of accountability
  • Interview candidates for the Account Executive (entry-level Inside Sales) position
  • Ability to easily communicate the value of service offerings of the division
  • Lead client-site visits/develop Account Executives’ outside sales capabilities
  • Work with other departments, including Pricing, Legal, Account Management, etc. to ensure client needs are met
  • When requested, act as a liaison for projects/initiatives with recruiting, Celadon Trucking sales management, marketing, HR, IT, etc..

 Travel

  • Local travel to visit clients’ within driving distance will happen a few times/month; overnight travel will rarely exceed 5% of monthly time

 Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of logistics inside sales experience
  • Demonstrated success selling a combination of service offerings (truckload, LTL, intermodal, expedited, etc.)
  • Sales management experience preferred

 Compensation

  •  Base salary + quarterly bonus contingent on the Inside Sales team’s performance
