Job Description

Overall Job Objective

Basic Function

The City of Coppell is searching for a customer service driven individual with a positive and outgoing personality. The Recreation Intern is responsible for managing and implementing recreation camp programs. These programs include, but are not limited to, off-site summer camps. This position will help assist with other functions performed by the Recreation Coordinator and other areas needed at The CORE. Regular attendance and excellent work ethic are essential job functions. Employment duties are routinely performed Monday-Friday, with additional hours on some weekends. Must be available the months of April, May, June, July and August.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for training and overseeing over seventy (70) seasonal camp staff over summer months
  • Assist Recreation Coordinator in planning program activities
  • Assigning and overseeing work of all camp staff
  • Responsible for relaying all camp information to participant's parents
  • Communicating with Recreation Coordinator, Camp Directors, and CORE Manager to exchange information and/ or resolve issues that relate to recreation camp programs
  • Ensure the safety of camp staff and camp participants
  • Helping to maintain camp budgets and inventory
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma required, CPR and First Aid certifications are required. Must be working towards a college degree. Must be at least 18 years or older.
