Position Purpose

For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must
have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.


Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed.  A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:  

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in landscape architecture
EXPERIENCE: 
  • Five (5) years of experience in landscape planning, design, construction and maintenance with oversight and project management of public space design and landscape maintenance plans/programs. 
LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • State of Texas Registered Landscape Architect
EQUIVALENCY(IES):
  • Five (5) years of the above listed experience, Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) Certification in good standing and a valid driver's license with good driving record will substitute for education, experience and licensing requirements 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES):
  • Knowledge of local landscape ordinances, regulations and practices
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • MS Office or similar software skills.
 PREFERENCE(S)
  • Municipal project management experience
  • CAD, GIS knowledge and experience
