Job Title:Reinvestment Zone Eleven Board (Downtown Connection)

The board of directors shall make recommendations to the City Council concerning the administration of the Downtown Connection TIF District. It shall prepare and adopt a final project plan and reinvestment zone financing plan for the Downtown Connection TIF District and must submit such plans to the City Council for its approval. The board of directors shall possess all powers necessary to prepare, implement and monitor such project plan for the Downtown Connection TIF District, as the City Council considers advisable, including the submission of an annual report on the status of the Downtown Connection TIF District.

 Qualifications:

This board requires that nominees for positions on this board have one of the following qualifications: For all TIF Districts that were initiated by petition (i.e. the Downtown Connection TIF District) Section 311.005 of the Texas Tax Code provides that a member must be at least 18 years of age and own real property that is located in the TIF District or be an employee or agent of a person that owns real property located in the TIF District. Although TIF board members may own property that is located in the TIF District on which they serve, you are prohibited from having a direct or indirect financial interest in a city contract that involves the use of TIF funds from the TIF District on which you serve. Accordingly, you may not submit a bid or proposal, on behalf of yourself or on behalf of a private business entity, to make a contract involving the use of TIF funds from the TIF District on which you serve.
