Job Title:Trinity River Corridor Local Government Corporation

The Corporation is organized for aiding, assisting, and acting on behalf of the City in the performance of its governmental functions; namely, the design, planning, development, financing, operation, and maintenance of public recreation uses of City fee-owned property located in a portion of the Trinity River Corridor, that portion also known as the "Dallas Floodway" and located on the Elm and West Forks through the main stem of the Trinity River through Dallas, Texas and ending at the ATSF Bridge, including City fee-owned property inside and within one-quarter mile outside of the centerline of the levees (the "Property"). 

The board meets monthly on the third Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m.   Meetings usually last one hour.  Special meetings as called by the chair.  A member may expect to devote a minimum of four hours a month  to board service.


To be eligible to serve as a Director, a person must be (1) a registered voter of the State of Texas, (2) a resident of the City, and (3) may not be any of the following: (i) an elected official; (ii) a former City Manager; (iii) a former Assistant City Manager; or (iv) a former Director of the City.  At least one Director must be a conservationist, including, but not limited to, a naturalist, ecologist, biologist, botanist, or archaeologist, once the full Board is seated.

Initially of three (3) persons at its formation (the "Initial Directors") and which Board shall be expanded to seven (7) persons with the remaining four (4) persons being nominated no later than January 1, 2018 (the "Additional Directors").  All Board members shall be appointed by the City Council of the City, upon recommendation of the Mayor of the City (the "Mayor").
