The AS/400 IT Director of Adjudication Architecture is responsible for the overall architecture and design of solutions for the business critical adjudication application systems and will work under minimal supervision to plan and direct multiple complex initiatives across multiple applications and systems. You will be actively involved in the creation and execution of the solution architecture, ensuring successful development, implementation and will think strategically to provide innovative solutions for both short and long term initiatives.

In this role, you will act as the chief architect for the adjudication application running on the iSeries AS/400 platform. In addition, you will develop and maintain an architectural road map for the adjudication applications on the AS/400 iSeries platform and related technologies for the enterprise, inclusive of High Availability and Disaster Recovery architecture. You will create and ensure the implementation of application development standards including defining the standards and standard methodologies, with the goal of aligning solutions to the RxClaim application architecture. This also includes architecting solutions off of the iSeries, with integration points onto the platform.

To be successful you should understand all aspects of how Adjudication applications run on the iSeries platform. Possess a good understanding of how changes affect the AS/400 iSeries platform and applications residing on the platform with the ability to lead efforts to dedicatedly mitigate and/or remediate changes that negatively impact the platform. You should be a thought-leader with superb communication, flexibility, adaptability, and can easily pivot in a fast-paced environment.


Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience in an IT role with a minimum 5 years experience in role as Chief Architect for an AS/400 platform and related technologies in a large-scale complex technology environment.

- Industry leading expertise in AS/400 and similar technologies, including but not limited to Mimix, CL, RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, SYNON, CA/2E, SQL, Aldon, JDBC, ODBC, Direct Connect, Rational Developer, iNavigator, PEX and Database concepts.

- Experience leading strategic planning for the AS/400 platform, including planning related to scalable growth, performance tuning, and optimization of the systems.

- Experience analyzing the related technologies to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

- Experience analyzing and identifying any and all changes, (infrastructure, operating system, database or application) that negatively affect the platform or applications.

- Experience working in a large production, large scale, high performing environment.

- Experience in developing and leading budgets, process improvement, technical leadership, HR management and staff development.

- Travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years management experience preferably in the PBM or Healthcare industry leading IT technical organization.

- RxClaim adjudication application expertise.

- Experience with pharmacy claims adjudication software.

- Experience with distributed systems and portable languages like Java.

- Experience with newer SDLC methodologies like Agile, SCRUM & XP.

- Experience with a cloud platform.

- Knowledge with CMS Medicare regulations.

- ITIL or PMP certifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent related work experience.
