Job Description
As a Senior Lead Java Developer, Advisor at CVS Health, you will be working on a team that develops applications for our Medicare Part D line of business. More specifically, the Advisor will be a vital contributor in designing and developing new in-house applications and enhancing existing applications. The role of the Advisor may involve taking ownership of complex and crucial projects and guide teams of employees and contractors towards successful implementation.

The primary responsibilities of the role will include:

- Undertaking development effort and oversight of design, development and deployment efforts.
- Reviewing the development work of other team members consisting of FTEs and contracted resources.
- Guiding team members regarding best practices, performance and quality standards.
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Quality Assurance and other IT teams throughout the SDLC process.
- Solving moderate and critical business problems in a timely manner.
- Gathering and reviewing requirements, development and testing documentation.
- Following up on progress to date and managing projects to completion.
- Assisting in development of solutions to multiple complex technical projects/initiatives.
- Evaluating and resolving or guiding other team members in resolving defects found during QA and UAT process.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ Years’ experience in information technology required, preferably in a lead role on SDLC projects.
- 5+ years in Java based web application development.

Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years in IT positions.
- 2+ years of Healthcare experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a lead role on SDLC projects.
- Experience with web based UI development.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and scripts.
- Experience with process flow documentation (Visio)
- Presentation/communication skills (MS Office) Experience in all phases of software development life cycle.
- Experience leading projects including: meeting deliverable dates, leading work team(s) and direct customer/client contact.
- Experience managing customer/client requirements or demands.
- Applied experience with database design, modeling and development.
- Ability to work closely with in a team environment and business partners.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Education
Bachelors degree required. Degree in Computer Science or related discipline strongly preferred. If no bachelors degree, then 2 years of relevant work experience for each year of college not obtained is required.
