    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration Accounting, Finance; Master's Degree in a related field preferred
    • Certified Public Accountant license preferred
    • Five years of supervisory role in financal reporting and/or grants reporting
    • Advanced governmental accouting experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of the governmental/educational/legislative process
    • Administrative abilities through the management of major segments of an educational institution
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position

    • Supervise Financial reporting, Grant Accounting and Special revenue funds group in Accounting Services department
    • Responsible for preparation, completion and filing CAFR with TEA within 150 days of fiscal year end
    • Responsible for completing School First reports
    • Review monthly financial reports and ensure timely submission to board by deadlines set by management
    • Responsible for year-end activities including accruals, CAFR schedules, and audit requests
    • Work with PEIMS department on PEIMS edits for Grants and Special Revenue Funds
    • Respond to Trustee requests
    • Work closely with all departments of the district on issues and problem resolution that affect CAFR reporting including Capital Assets, Debt service, Agency funds etc.
    • Responsible for Government wide entries per GASB standards for CAFR reporting
    • Work closely with consultants on AUDIT LEA software for completion of CAFR
    • Research GASB, GFOA and EDGAR requirements to ensure proper financial reporting
    • Responsible for preparation of Statistical section, notes and other schedules for CAFR
    • Responsible for preparation of Major fund evaluation
    • Responsible for completion of Component Unit Analysis memo
    • Oversee management of grants and special revenue and financial reporting performance reviews, and any other staff related duties
    • Approve year end entries related to grants and special revenue funds
    • Monitor and review Grants and Special Revenue Funds Trial Balance and direct staff to make necessary adjustments
    • Review Schedule of Federal Awards, Revenue by source, grants AR roll forward and other grants related schedules required for CAFR
    • Assist with monthly close process
    • Review and approve financial reimbursements and requests for federal, state, and local agencies
    • Work with Special Revenue Management Funds group on issues and problem resolution that affect both compliance and financial reporting
    • Provide direction and assistance to Accounting staff and other departments on problem resolution as it relates to invoice payments
    • Provide training and support for staff
    • Responsible for coordination of monthly meetings with staff
    • Generate financial reports for Management, other departments, and external agencies as needed
    • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

    Salary Minimum: $75,728

    Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer – Human Capital Management.
