    1. High School Diploma or USA equivalency; Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment; Valid Texas educational aide certificate
    2. Six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants is preferred
    3. Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.
    4. Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups.
    5. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
    6. Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
    1. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
    2. Assist with administration of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
    3. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
    4. Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
    5. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
    6. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
    7. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus and playground duty.
    8. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
    9. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
    10. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
    11. Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files.
    12. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
    Salary Minimum $22,858.00 Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer – Human Capital Management. Federally funded personnel must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certifications, as appropriate.
