Job Description

Experian's Global Security Operation Center (GSOC) is seeking an Insider Threat Lead. This position supports the protection of critical assets of Experian as part of the Insider Threat Program that will help to protect client and Experian data and assets by monitoring suspicious behavior of the entire Experian population with an initial focus on data exfiltration. Key responsibilities of this position are to work with the Insider Threat Governance Team to develop the threat strategy across the organization by:

  • Analyzing event data, risk indicators, leading practices, and trends in a user behavioral analytics tools to execute our strategy to improve and maximize risk detection
  • Applying program management, thought leadership, and analysis skills to contribute to the daily operations of a growing insider threat program


Below a list of the main duties and responsibilities:

  • Direct threat strategy by leveraging user behavioral analytics tools (DLP & Exabeam) to analyze and understand high-risk employee behavior
  • Conduct in depth analysis of information received into the behavioral analytics tools to provide recommendations on strategy to Insider Threat Governance Team
  • Support highly visible, small team in day to day responsibilities by conducting data analysis and developing reporting and presentation content
  • Develop briefings for key stakeholders based on trend analysis and identify new opportunities for program maturation
  • Support the roll-out of the Insider Threat Monitoring program globally, including deployment activities
  • Participate in global Insider Threat initiatives as needed, including participating in global team meetings and sharing best practices with Analysts
  • Become a subject matter expert in the behavioral analytics tool and train others on usage and best practices.
  • Contribute to other data security projects as needed


Required Experience: 3 years' experience in the following areas:

  • Experience establishing strategic direction on a security-related program
  • Familiarity with security analysis tools and their output
  • Background or exposure to privacy law, investigative processes or user behavioral analytics tools
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills and ability to laisse with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to quality and detail
  • High quality analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to apply critical thinking in evaluating different scenarios
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion
  • Ability to prioritize work and operate independently; know when to seek guidance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous experience of working with SharePoint, OneDrive, and Tableau a plus

Desired Experience:

  • 3 years of information security related experience, in areas such as: security programs, insider threat principles, and analytical work
  • Relevant work experience strongly preferred
  • Relevant technical and industry certifications are a plus, e.g. CERT Insider Threat Program Manager Certificate

Education:Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
