  • Overview

    The VP is responsible for providing leadership and direction of software delivery teams in the development of digital direct to consumer financial products and services. The VP will lead a small team of employees, and will also oversee multiple external technology vendors.

    Responsibilities

    JOB DUTIES

    • Plan, organize and direct software delivery teams and implementation of new technology platforms
    • Identify, engage and oversee third party technology providers as necessary to deliver best-in-class customer experiences
    • Establish and maintain standards and control measures for developed software and systems
    • Establish, manage, and report upon application and team performance using key quality metrics
    • Partner with product owners to set a strategic technical services roadmap to include tools, processes and standards leveraging industry standards and best practices
    • Recruit, coach, mentor and develop employees to strengthen skill sets, foster high performance, and support further career growth

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    • Advanced knowledge of large-scale application development technologies, architectures and tools
    • Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies
    • Working knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps concepts, including continuous integration, continuous testing and continuous delivery
    • Advanced knowledge of mobile application development best practices preferred

    Skills

    • Ideal candidate will have served as a developer in prior roles and have a deep understanding of modern, highly scalable architectures leveraging the latest technologies including NET/C#, Restful APIs, micro-services, cloud computing etc.
    • Ability to effectively translate technical knowledge into realistic and attainable strategies, policies and processes and to implement them with positive impact on corporate goals and objectives

    Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    • Strong Agile team leadership with experience rolling out new Agile processes, training and cross-functional adoption preferred
    • Experience in auto finance preferred

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related discipline, or equivalent experience required

    Work Experience

    • 7-10 years applicable experience; management experience required
    • Ideal candidate will have served as a developer in prior roles and have a deep understanding of modern, highly scalable architectures leveraging the latest technologies including NET/C#, Restful APIs, micro-services, cloud computing etc.
