PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Provide individualized instruction to support students in meeting the state student performance standards
  • Implement individualized activities/strategies as defined by the classroom teacher or the Instructional Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

              Education/Certification:

             

            Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid teaching certificate

Training in teaching dyslexic students using the multi-sensory teaching approach will be provided

              Special Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and learning

Demonstrated effectiveness as a professional role model

Understanding of and ability to use student learning research

Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management and organization

              Experience:

             

                       None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Provide Dyslexia Intervention program to students with Characteristics of Dyslexia
  1. Follow district procedures for the program
  1. Keep accurate and complete records for students served and submit as required
  1. Establish and maintain open communication with coordinator, principal, instructional specialist, and classroom teachers
  1. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
  1. Participate in professional development activities to improve instructional skills
  1. Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business

Shift Type: Part-Time Less Than 30 Hours Per Week
