Job Description
The Facilities Operations Manager leads the strategy, planning, and execution of all maintenance operations, including production/infrastructure machinery & equipment. The position is accountable for all plans, budgets and schedules including estimates on equipment, labor and materials in support of proper maintenance of production/infrastructure machinery, equipment, systems and work conditions.

Leads Facilities Operations staff that manage and support units of represented employees, and at times the work or an assigned work group of employees, engaged in performing functions and skills essential to manufacture or support the development, manufacture, test and delivery of company products, assuring that established schedules, cost and performance objectives are met. Communicates the strategy and expectations associated with the general method to be followed by employees in performance and flow of work to maintain established standards and support production schedules within cost restraints. Coordinate, monitor and implement efforts in management planning and reporting such as cost reporting, manpower requirements, workloads, and facility condition.

Represents Facilities organization through coordination and interface with other functional organizations. Frequent contacts with internal and external customers at various management levels concerning project and/or process decisions associated with facilities operations and maintenance. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning facilities maintenance operations and/or activities. Inspires and encourages innovation through support of modifying methods and procedures to increase organization efficiency and effectiveness while meeting new or changing conditions. Trains employees in proper operating methods and procedures. Interprets company policy for employees, settle grievances and promote harmonious labor relations and unit morale. Accountable for the safety and workplace-health of assigned employees and enforcement of environmental, safety, and health regulations. Accountable for selection and proper classifications, assignments, transfer and other changes in status of assigned employees as appropriate. Maintain and/or understand a variety of automated records and reports relative to unit operations and personnel activities.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated Team Leadership in a complex facilities environment, including budgeting and manpower planning.
Able to manage multiple personnel, facilities departments and issues simultaneously with strong leadership and decision-making skills to achieve positive results.
Specialized knowledge of the basic skills, methods and procedures for specific functional areas such as infrastructure, manufacturing, specialized labs, Central utility plant, master schedules for preventive maintenance of critical equipment and closed areas.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, specifications, cost estimates and pertinent instructions.
Knowledge of company policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements and other applicable procedures.
Knowledge of procedures and requirements associated with work orders (WO's), government furnished equipment, preventive maintenance, scheduling, and prioritizing work.
Experience applying lean principles with ability to deliver on business objectives in a team focused environment.
Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent level of quality in workmanship and the performance of special assignments as directed.
Ability to obtain a government issued security clearance.
Superior communication skills to support regular presentations to all levels of employees and management
Proven Customer Service experience and success.
Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
Leadership skills to coordinate and horizontally integrate with other functional departments and team members from engineering, strategic planning, contract administration, human resources, quality, materials, programs, and production.

Desired skills
Experience in the following areas: project management, capital and/or infrastructure requirements planning, life cycle cost analysis, Collective Bargaining Agreement/Negotiations, SAP.
Ability to lead and motivate a team in fast-paced and complex environment. Ability to coach and train team members in technical and leadership development.
Experience managing in a matrix management environment and leading leaders.
Facilities experience in defense or government regulated industry.
Blackbelt and/or Greenbelt certification
