Description
MWH Constructors, now part of the Stantec Construction Group, is a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Pipe Layer / Pipe Installer.

Responsibilities Include:
Installs conduit pipe, ductile iron piping, copper piping, stainless steel tubing, and other types of piping. Maintains and repairs pipelines, pumping stations, and tank farms by performing any combination of following duties as member of a crew.
Essential Functions:
Removes rust and foreign substances from meters and valves, using sand blasting equipment. Pours corrosion resistant material over pipe or applies material with brush or spray gun. Wraps pipe with strips of paper or fabric to prevent corrosion and leakage. Positions materials, pipes, fittings, and pumping equipment for carpenters, mechanics, and welders. Reads blueprints to determine size, position, and amount of conduit pipe required. Cuts threads and bends pipe, using hand tools and power tools. Install pipe. Installs screw-pipe and manifold connections, using wrenches and pipe tongs. Cleans storage tanks, using squeegees and rakes. Dismantles water lines that inhibit pipeline work, using earth moving equipment, pick, and shovel, digs drainage ditches, using shovel; and gathers trash, pipe parts, and equipment to clear grounds along pipelines right-of-way. May walk along line to detect leaks. May operate pumping equipment. May operate pipe-cleaning-and-wrapping machines to apply dope and wrap pipe.
Requirements:
Workers should be able to: Look at blueprints, drawings, or pictures and understand how they would look as solid objects with height, width, or depth; Use hands and arms easily and skillfully; Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; and rate information using standards which can be measured or checked. Physically, workers must be able to: Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50-75 pounds; Climb up or down ladders, scaffolding, or other objects and maintain balance; Tolerate heights without fear; Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach for and position reinforcing material; Use hands and arms fully; and see well (either naturally or with correction). Working Conditions
Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures, near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and to vibration and loud noise. Work may be hazardous.
