    Job Description

    The Vice President, Taxation is responsible for the management of the company’s Tax Department. The Tax Department handles the Company’s and its family owners’ tax compliance, accounting for income taxes and the oversight of tax planning. The ideal candidate will have strong tax compliance and planning experience, will possess the ability to lead a team of internal and external tax professionals and will have demonstrated the ability to work well cross-functionally.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all U.S. and State tax related areas, including supervision of the Company’s Tax Department and all planning, structuring and compliance activities
    • Work effectively with internal and external advisors and business units to devise, review and implement transaction related tax structures and monitor existing tax structures and risks
    • Oversee all U.S. tax reporting and compliance functions
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all Federal and State income tax returns, estimates and extensions as well as all related compliance
    • Provide tax guidance, advice and risk management support to the Company, its business units and family owners
    • Participate in special projects initiated by senior leadership
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. tax legislative developments and related implications
    • Serve as the primary contact with IRS agents and State auditors
    • Initiate Federal and State tax planning and provide technical assistance with various tax issues
    • Oversee financial statement reporting of income taxes and effective tax rate management
    • Develop, mentor and guide members of the Company’s Tax Department

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting; Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
    • CPA Certification
    • Ten plus years of relevant tax experience
    • Strong tax research, writing and communication skills
    • Extensive knowledge of both Federal and State income tax law as well as general business knowledge and fundamentals of accounting
    • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
    • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
