DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a motivated Collections Supervisor with an extensive knowledge of claims reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, Commercial plans, etc. We are looking for a top performer with an extensive knowledge of billing, collections and reimbursement of claims processing. 

This is a fast paced environment committed to producing the highest quality work. 


JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the CBO Manager, the Collections Supervisor is responsible for the following: 

• Supervise Collectors daily tasks to keep dept on target. 
• Keep Mgr apprised when coverage is needed and/or fill in as necessary. 
• Review accounts for bad debt. 
• Audit accounts worked by Collectors and provide feedback. 
• Responsible for accounts assigned as special projects. 
• Responsible for refund and adjustments from the collectors. 
• Train new employees or retraining existing employees. 

Candidate must be a team player, and have ability to communicate well with direct reports, patients, customers, insurance carriers, etc. Ability to manage accounts worked independently, and in a productive manner. Must project a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of the surgery center and patients. Works well in stressful environment and in situations that demand patience.

Required Skills

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

3-4 years previous collections experience, with emphasis on healthcare insurance collections of all types.

Medical terminology.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Skilled in time management and prioritization of work day.

Good customer service skills, always demonstrates professionalism.

Comfortable utilizing critical thinking skills

Typing 45-60 WPM.

High School Diploma or equivalency.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Experience with electronic patient information systems.

Prefer previous experience with Electronic Health Record system, but will train.
